Jennifer Lawrence has had a busy 2023.
A few months after giving birth to her first child with husband Cooke Maroney, Lawrence kicked through a door, got punched in the throat and fought off beach thieves in the nude in R-rated comedy "No Hard Feelings," which hit theaters in June.
In the movie, Lawrence plays a cash-strapped Uber driver named Maddie in desperate need of a car. She gets hired by a couple of rich parents to show their nerdy teenage son, played by Andrew Barth Feldman, a good time in exchange for a Buick Regal.
In an interview with USA TODAY in June, Lawrence said she had been offered broad comedies before, but says they were never funny enough. That changed when she read the script for "No Hard Feelings."
"I read the script and thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen," Lawrence said in the interview.
The movie is loosely based on a real-life Craigslist post discovered by one of the film's producers.

“I read it and was like, ‘Who are the parents that put this out, and who’s the woman who answers this?’ “ says director Gene Stupnitsky, Lawrence’s longtime friend, who’d been searching for a comedy they could make together.
“Anyone who’s ever seen an interview with her knows how funny she is. She’s really put through the paces in this movie, but ... everything she does is 100%.”
