Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry's love is truly something from a teenage dream.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star was on hand during the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards Sept. Sept. 11 to help introduce his longtime partner as she received this year's Video Vanguard Award for her countless iconic music videos.
"Give it up for our newest Video Vanguard, Katheryn Hudson," Bloom said on stage at New York's UBS Arena, referencing the singer's birth name, before adding, "Katy Perry!"
"You fell in love with her as Katy Perry, I fell in love with her as Katheryn Hudson," he added. "You know her as a global superstar who brings love, light and her unique sense of humor into every song she writes and every music video she creates."
Bloom went on to applaud the Grammy winner's role as mom to their 4-year-old daughter Daisy.
"I know her as a mother, as a partner who brings that same sense of love and joy to our family," the 47-year-old gushed. "She loves with her whole heart and it’s kind of irresistible. Congratulations on this honor baby, I’m so proud of you."
After performing a medley of her many hits—including "Teenage Dream," "E.T.," "Dark Horse" and "California Girls"—the 39-year-old accepted the honor in the most Katy Perry way possible.
"Thank you, I did that all on my first day of my period, can you believe it?" she quipped. "Thank you so much to MTV for believing in my weirdness from day one. There are so many things that have to align to have a long and successful career as an artist. There are no decades-long accidents."
After thanking her managers and record label, she made a personal statement directly to her fans and family.
"My Katy Cats, you stood by me for a lifetime and the LGBTQ community who I recognize I would not be here without," she concluded. "You showed me that you can be both kind and snatched. Thank you to Orlando for keeping me grounded, celebrated and doing the dishes. And lastly, for my Daisy, the only flower I'll ever need."
